"Mission der Hoffnung" - Kongresse 2009

Wien, 16.05.2009   -   Die Kongresse der Kirche der Siebenten-Tags-Adventisten im Jahr 2009 betonen die positive Zukunftserwartung, die die Bibel gerade im 21. Jahrhundert bietet.

Von April bis Juli finden sieben öffentliche Veranstaltungen in den meisten der neun Bundesländer statt, beginnend mit Vorarlberg am 17. und 18. April. "Solche Kongresse haben schon eine langjährige Tradition. Sie dienen der Gemeinschaft, Glaubensstärkung, Orientierung und Vermittlung von Visionen für die Zukunft unserer Kirche", erklärt Pastor Herbert Brugger, Präsident der Kirche der Siebenten-Tags-Adventisten in Österreich."Ich erwarte mir an der Bibel ausgerichtete geistliche Versammlungen, Ermutigung für unsere teilnehmenden Gäste und Mitglieder. Ich freue mich schon auf die Begegnungen und hoffe, dass es zu einer Aufbruchstimmung kommt, die zeigt, dass wir auch als kleine Kirche einen wichtigen Stellenwerrt und Bedeutung in der Gesellschaft haben."

Das Programm der Kongresse ist in allen Bundesländern in etwa gleich und wird vom Team der Kirchenleitung gestaltet. Am Freitag Abend steht die Bibel als Quelle von Glauben und Leben im Mittelpunkt der Kongresseröffnung. Nach dem Gottesdienst am Samstag Vormittag, der aus dem Bibelgespräch im ersten und einer Predigt im zweiten Teil besteht, steht am Nachmittag die Initiative "Österreich erreichen" am Programm. Abgerundet wird der Kongress mit einem musikalischen Höhepunkt.

Pastor Oliver Fichtberger, Verantwortlicher für den Bereich Mission, der auch die Predigt hält, sagt: "Adventisten sind Hoffnungsträger der Wiederkunft Jesu. Wer eine Hoffnung hat, kann anders leben. Er lebt nicht nur für sich selbst, sondern helfend für andere. Wir sprechen die Einladung aus, diese Hoffnung zu teilen und auch Hoffnungsträger zu werden." In diesem Sinn seien Adventisten überzeugt, dass Gott die Fäden in der Hand hält und Menschen diese Welt nicht gänzlich in den Abgrund fahren können. "Unsere Hoffnung ist tätige Hoffnung: Es ist nicht nur die Erwartung einer besseren Zukunft irgendwann, sondern bedeutet heute gelebte Hilfe," so Fichtberger weiter. Daher engagieren sich Adventisten auch sozial und humanitär sowie im Gesundheitswesen. Beispiele dafür seien die Adventistische Entwicklungs- und Katastrophenhilfsorganisation ADRA, die mobile Hauskrankenpflegeorganisation "Soziale Dienste der Adventmission" in Wien oder die Liga für Leben und Gesundheit. Nicht zu vergessen sei aber auch, "dass Adventisten ihren Dienst für andere im Gebet sehen. Gerade in Zeiten der Krise ist das Gebet für viele Menschen eine besondere Kraftquelle."

05.+06. Juni 2009 - Klagenfurt und Landskron
19.+20. Juni 2009 - Wien und Klosterneuburg
03.+04. Juli 2009 - Graz und Gratkorn
